[T]he first of this season’s Cumbria Canoe Polo tournaments was held at Penrith Leisure Centre on Sat 25th Nov.
The event started with a game of novice players, then 6 teams from Penrith, Kendal, Lancaster and Barrow, played in a league style tournament.
The aim of these tournaments is to give beginner and intermediate paddlers, some tournament experience, so they can move onto the regional and national Canoe Polo leagues.
The national league team players, were therefore mixed up with less experienced players to give more evenly matched teams.
The result was a tournament with some great competitive, but fairly closely fought matches, enjoyed by all.
The eventual winners were the Penrith Pyranhas team.
