[A] MAN was told he could receive a prison sentence for distributing indecent images and cannabis production crimes.
Neil Monkhouse, 33, faced a total of nine charges when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.
Monkhouse pleaded guilty to three counts of making and also three counts of distributing indecent images of children. All of these charges span a period between February 6 and July 12 last year, although it was stated by his lawyer that the distribution occurred over the course of a week in early July.
The court heard category A images – the most serious – were included in the charges, which revealed 28 had been made and 39 distributed.
In addition, Monkhouse admitted possessing a total of 49 indecent photographs of children; producing a quantity of cannabis, between July 1 and 12 last year; and possessing the class B drug on July 11.
Sentencing was adjourned until February 16. Monkhouse, of Hallin Crescent, Carlisle, was granted bail and told he must now sign the Sex Offenders’ Register.
Recorder Julie Clemitson told him: “You should prepare yourself for the possibility of a custodial sentence.”
