Police appeal after Carlisle sex assault

[P]olice in Carlisle are investigating a sexual assault that occurred earlier this month in Botchergate.

The incident occurred at approximately 7.20pm on 7th January 2018 near to the Ranya Shawarma takeaway.

A female, aged in her early twenties, was walking on Botchergate opposite the Ranya Shawarma takeaway in the direction of London Road when a male has approached and groped her over her clothing. The female has shouted at the male and he made off in the direction of either Rydal Street or South Henry Street.

The suspect is descried as a white male, aged in his forties, 5ft 6 – 5ft 7 tall, of average build. He was wearing a dark navy/black hoody an dark trousers. He was carrying a fresh takeaway box wrapped in white paper.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
