[J]ohn Stevenson MP is hosting the NFU Director General, Terry Jones, as a guest speaker at a lunch on 2nd February.

The lunch will include a question and answer session giving Carlisle residents the opportunity to ask Mr Jones questions regarding agriculture.

Terry Jones re-joined the NFU as Director General in April 2016. For five years previously he had been working at the Food & Drink Federation (FDF) and Provision Trade Federation (PTF). From 2002-2011, Terry worked for the NFU in a variety of roles including Head of Government Affairs, Head of Food Chain and Director of Communications.

John said: “I am really pleased to be able to facilitate this event so that my constituents have the opportunity to highlight their concerns with the Director General of the NFU.

“It is important that we raise the profile of rural issues in and around Carlisle in order to put them on the agenda nationally. Carlisle has a number of agribusinesses and it’s a great opportunity for them to hear the views of the NFU and also to give their views to Mr Jones to promote the importance of the sector in the Carlisle economy.”

The lunch is taking place at the Shepherd’s Inn on Rosehill Industrial Estate, 12pm for 12.30 pm. Tickets are £20.00 each and anyone wishing to attend, should e-mail [email protected] or phone 01128 550684 to reserve your ticket.
