[A] MAN is due to be sentenced next month after he admitted using “controlling” behaviour towards a woman.
Ryan Paton, 33, faced one charge when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court this morning (TUES).
Paton admitted controlling or coercive behaviour towards the female between May 1 and October 31 in 2016. The charge states that his conduct “caused her to fear on at least two occasions that violence would be used against her”, and caused serious alarm or distress which had a “substantial adverse effect on her usual day-to-day activities”.
Judge Barbara Forrester adjourned the case, and ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Paton, of Oak Drive, Stainburn, Workington, was told he is due to receive his punishment at the crown court on February 26th.
In the meantime he was granted bail by the judge.
