[P]olice are appealing for witnesses after a serious one-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A6 just north of Shap.
Officers were called at 11:55pm on Saturday 27 January.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The collision involve one-vehicle, a white Vauxhall Astra van, which was being driven by a 19-year-old man from the Penrith area, he sustained serious injuries.”
The A6 was closed while police collision investigators examined the scene but reopened at approx 6am.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact PC2091 on 101 quoting log 242 of 27 January.
