Scott Croxford

[A] man has today been jailed for 40 months for supply of heroin in Carlisle.

Scott Croxford, aged 29, of no fixed abode, was sentenced yesterday (7th February) at Carlisle Crown Court.

Croxford was sentenced for the following offences:

  • Possess with intent to supply controlled drug of Class A – heroin.
  • Possess a controlled drug of Class A – cocaine.

His offences came to light when officers attended a property on Grey Street, Carlisle, following the discovery of drugs. On arrival police searched the address and found Croxford asleep next to a large amount of heroin. A street value of over £3,500 worth of heroin was seized.

Temporary Detective Constable Stephen Kidd, North Cumbria Crime Hub, said: “Today’s sentencing is another example of how robustly police and courts deal with those who look to supply drugs within the local community.

“Croxford was found asleep next to the drugs he intended to supply to others. This case highlights the dangers of becoming involved in this form of organised crime. If you deal drugs you can expect to be brought before the courts.

“Drug supply has a negative effect on the community and police will continue to target both individuals and groups who believe they can supply drugs in the local area. We will use all legislation open to us to make sure drugs are recovered and persons are brought to justice.”
