
A man has been arrested after a racially aggravated assault took place in West Cumbria.
Police received a report that on Tuesday May 26, at around 11.00am, a man had assaulted another man at the junction of Lowther Street and King Street in Whitehaven.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and released on bail while enquiries remain ongoing.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to trace a male in a green t-shirt who attempted to diffuse the situation. The man is being sought strictly as a witness.
