Tim Farron MP and volunteers washing cars for Grayrigg School’s ‘200 in 200’ campaign

[S]outh Lakes MP Tim Farron rolled up his sleeves on Saturday to wash cars in Kendal in aid of Grayrigg Primary School.

The car wash, which took place at Kirkbie Kendal School, raised over £500 in total.

The event was part of the Friends of Grayrigg School’s ‘200 in 200’ campaign, which sees them running 200 fundraising events during the school’s 200th anniversary year.

The group is raising funds towards an additional classroom which is needed due to the growth of the school.

Tim said: “It was a pleasure to be involved in this event to celebrate Grayrigg School’s 200th anniversary.

“A big thanks to everyone who came down to lend a hand – we washed over 50 cars in two and a half hours and raised money for a really great cause!”
