Carl Losh

[A] Carlisle man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for numerous offences.

Carl Losh, aged 26, was sentenced today (9th March) at Carlisle Crown Court for the following offences:

  • Two counts of rape
  • Four counts of assault ABH
  • Assault GBH
  • Assault GBH with intent
  • Harassment

Losh, who is already serving a sentence at HMP Frankland, was found guilty at an earlier hearing.

Losh will serve a further five years on an extended licence period post-sentence.

Detective Constable Deborah Story, North Cumbria Crime Hub, said: “Carl Losh is a dangerous individual who attacked his victim on a number of occasions.

“The victim in this case has been extremely brave in reporting what had happened to her and has cooperated fully with our enquiries.

“Losh will rightly now serve a significant amount of time for his despicable actions.

“I hope that this case encourages anyone who has been a victim to come forward and report it to police. A victim can be reassured that their case will be investigated professionally and sensitively.”

If you wish to report a crime or speak to an officer about an incident, please contact Cumbria Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
