[A] SOUTH Cumbria man will stand trial after denying that he inflicted grievous bodily harm on a woman.
Gerard George McBlain, 36, faced two charges when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (THURS) over a video link from custody.
McBlain pleaded not guilty to one charge which alleges that he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm upon Maxine Elizabeth Quirk on February 20.
He also denied allegedly damaging property, a window, belonging to Ms Quirk on February 15.
Both charges arise out of incidents which are said to have occurred in the Kendal area.
McBlain, of James Street, Barrow, was told he would go on trial before a jury at the crown court. This is due to start on May 21.
In the meantime he was remanded in custody by Judge James Adkin.
