[A]t 10:49pm on Tuesday 24 April firefighters were called to a fire at a domestic property on Dunmallet Rigg, Carlisle.
On arrival the crews discovered that the fire involved a toaster and units.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“Crews then used a large high-pressure fan to clear smoke from the property.
“Firefighters also removed a man suffering from smoke inhalation from the premises. They gave him oxygen therapy before handing him over to the care of paramedics.
“Fire crews were in attendance for around an hour and 15 minutes.”
