Missing man who killed his wife could be heading to Scotland

[P]olice are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a man from Sedgley Park.

Michael Smales, 54, has been missing from his home since Monday 30 April 2018.

He was last seen wearing camouflage jacket, jeans and trainers. Police believe he could be heading to Scotland.

Police are concerned for Michael’s physical and mental health, he is subject to an indefinite hospital order after he was convicted of the manslaughter of his wife in 2009.

He has been managed by mental health services in the community.

Anyone who sees Michael is asked not to approach him but to call police as soon as possible.

Police stress that Michael is missing not wanted.

Those with any information about his whereabouts are asked to contact police on 0161 856 8174, alternatively call GMP on 101 quoting the missing person reference number MP/18/0115395 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
