[W]orkington Town Council, with support from Dementia Action Alliance, will be hosting another Memory Café on Friday 22 June from 12.30-2pm at the Carnegie Theatre & Arts Centre in Workington.

The event will follow on from the success of the inaugural Memory Café held in November 2017. The concept of a Memory Cafe is used across the country to provide a relaxed social environment for people whose lives have been impacted by dementia, memory loss, or cognitive impairment. This includes individuals with dementia or memory loss as well as their carers, families, and friends.

Guests will be treated to a buffet style lunch served in the newly renovated Carnegie Restaurant. Chair of Workington Town Council’s Culture Committee, Cllr Joan Wright, said: “We are delighted to be able to host another Memory Café this year. Last year’s event was so well attended and everyone really enjoyed the experience.”

A second memory café for 2018 will be held at the same time and venue on Friday 23rd November.

To book on either dates, please e-mail [email protected] or call 01900 702986.
