Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found dead in Carlisle

[D]etectives are investigating the sudden death of a 64-year-old Carlisle woman.

Police were contacted yesterday (31st May) at 10.55am by the North West Ambulance Service to report a sudden death of a woman within an address on Cant Crescent, Carlisle.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Her death is unexplained.

“Officers subsequently arrested a 31-year-old male on suspicion of murder. He remains detained for questioning.

“Next of kin have been informed and officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries in the local area.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Cumbria CID on 101.
