[W]orkington in Bloom has received a kind donation of £500 from Washington Square Shopping Centre. The donation contributed to the stunning hanging flower baskets in Workington’s bid to win the large town category for Cumbria in Bloom.
The Workington in Bloom team has been working hard, with a team of trusty volunteers, to put together a beautiful spectacle on the streets of Workington; flowerbeds and hanging baskets full of vibrant flowers have been positioned on the streets to provide a colourful view for people walking by and driving through Workington.
The Mayor of Workington, Cllr Barbara Cannon, was delighted by Washington Square Shopping Centre’s donation. Mayor Cannon said ‘Workington in Bloom looks better every year and we are always grateful for donations, help from volunteers has made Workington look the best I have ever seen it’.
The Washington Square Shopping Centre is home to a great mix of local shops and national chains including Debenhams, Next, River Island, WH Smiths, Pandora, HMV and much more!
