Police appeal after Carlisle sex assaults

[P]olice are investigating two reports of sexual assault following an incident in a Carlisle pub.

At approximately 11pm on Saturday 21st July, two women were sexually assaulted on the dancefloor inside the Border Rambler on Botchergate.

The women, aged in their late 20s and mid-30s respectively, were approached by two men outside the pub shortly before the assault.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man from Manchester on suspicion of sexual assault a short time later. He has subsequently been released under investigation.

The description of one of the males is an Asian man wearing a dark shoes and jeans with a white t-shirt that had arrows pointing up and down. The suspect is approximately 5ft 7 tall, with black hair and a black goatee beard.
