Picnic Cinema at Kirklington Hall

[P]icnic Cinema are screening 24 Hour Party People (18) – The unbelievably true story of one man, one movement, the music and madness that was Manchester – at Kirklinton Hall with their adult only end of season Hacienda inspired House Party.

The Norths No.1 Outdoor Cinema – Picnic Cinema – have spent the summer touring to venues including stately holmes and forests and castles and will be rounding up their season at Kirklinton Hall on Saturday 18th August.

Organised by Eden Arts, the team at Picnic Cinema have previously screened Trainspotting and Moulin Rouge to sold out audiences at the iconic hall, just 20 minutes outside of Carlisle, and are excited to return with this movie choice in 2018.

Far more than an outdoor cinema, the full Picnic Cinema experience includes dressing up, camping over, and letting your hair down. Fun and games before the film, music, dancing and many more surprises throughout the evening make up their iconic ‘cinema parties’ which over the years have garnered a cult following.
Captain Picnic’s Hacienda House Party promises a playlist of Factory Records’ back catalogue, techno and acid house, with an 80’s Madchester fancy dress theme, think part retro, part hippie, part football casual, baggy jeans, brightly coloured tie-dye tops topped off with a fishing hat.

Picnic Cinema goers are also able to camp over in Kirklinton Hall grounds, where facilities include showers, toilets, cooking shack, fully fitted bar, tea room and more.

If camping isn’t your thing, there is the option to upgrade with belle tents provided by Belle Hotel. This gives you the option to turn up to a readymade tent, complete with a range of different furnishing options (booking info can be found on the Picnic Cinema website).

Campers are able to arrive from 4.30pm, non camping audiences arrive from 6.30pm, entertainment starts at approx 7.00pm and the film is expected to start around 9.00pm
