Energy Coast UTC students celebrate fantastic A-level and BTEC engineering results

[T]he Energy Coast UTC has announced a fantastic set of results for Year 13 students this year.

Almost all their students gained results which were exceptional – both for themselves and for their future careers.

Some notable successes include:

Academic: The following students secured excellent A level and BTEC grades equivalents:

  • Charlie Minshaw 5 A levels including 2 A*, B and 2 Cs
  • Niamh Nelson 4 A levels A*, B, C, D
  • Sam Wilson 5 A levels A*, A, A, C, C
  • James Wallace 4 A levels A*, A*, C, C

Destinations: Year 13 students have already secured highly coveted apprenticeships including:

  • Sam Wilson and Talisker Hodgkins-Webb secured Apprenticeships with Formula One Teams.
  • Niamh Nelson, secured an apprenticeship with the Royal Navy as an Engineer, thus realising a life long ambition.

Many other students secured apprenticeships with Morgan Sindall, Sellafield Limited and Gen2 and a high percentage gained university places.

All of these success stories have only been made possible through the unique, high quality educational curriculum that only UTC’s offer.

Principal Cherry Tingle said: “The hard work of our students and the inspirational teaching of staff has been rewarded with the superb performance of our students in the 2018 exams. Students have achieved exceptionally well and, very importantly, have confirmed their places on a range of exciting apprenticeship and university courses.”
