[A] MAN will stand trial after he denied charges which allege two assaults and knife possession in Workington.
Barry Simm, 39, faced four allegations when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (FRI).
Simm denied two alleged assaults on Kimberley Bennewith, and also pleaded not guilty to damaging a window and door belonging to Tracey Nicholson.
Simm further denied the alleged possession of a bladed article – a knife – at Mossbay Road in Workington.
All of the charges arise out of alleged incidents which are said to have taken place on July 15.
Simm now faces a trial in front of a jury at the crown court. It is estimated this will last one day, and is due to be held in the week of September 17.
In the meantime, Simm, of Gosford Street, Liverpool, was remanded in custody by Judge Barbara Forrester.
