The Cumberland has confirmed that it has extended its sponsorship of Carlisle United.

The deal sees the Cumberland continue to sponsor the Schools and Community Programme, which provides local primary schools and community groups with free tickets for home football matches during the season.

Ticket office manager Louise Banks said: “Our relationship with The Cumberland continues to be a fantastic example of how strong partnerships can work to the benefit of all parties concerned. That is particularly the case with the children who get to take part in the Community Ticket Scheme.

“We now have over 80 organisations registered and close to 2,000 children get to come to see a game each season. We’re looking to keep expanding that year on year, with as many groups and schools as possible receiving invitations ahead of the start of the season.

“The most important thing for us is that this partnership with The Cumberland helps the club to grow and develop very close links with groups and schools. These are, after all, our fans of the future.

“We’d like to thank The Cumberland for the support they give us and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them for many more years to come.”

Andrew Gordon, Head of Relationships at the Cumberland: “We’re delighted to continue our support for the club by extending this sponsorship deal, which will allow both ourselves and the club to further develop our already strong relationships with schools and the local community.

“By sponsoring the Schools and Community Programme, we’re able to provide free tickets to local primary schools and community groups in the area, which provides thousands of children with a fantastic behind the scenes experience at the club, helping to develop its next generation of fans.”

Blues fans can also support the club with a savings account from the Cumberland. The Cumberland donates 1% of the total average balances in the Cumberland Blues Affinity Account to the club, as well as offering a range of other benefits including a discount in the club shop, a monthly prize draw and the opportunity for young savers to be mascots at home games.

Tickets for Carlisle United home games continue to be available from the Cumberland’s Fisher Street branch in Carlisle.
