At 6:24pm yesterday, Monday 10 December fire engines from Workington were mobilised to a domestic building fire on Fountains Avenue.
On arrival crews found a fire involving a cooker.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were detained approximately one hour.”
