Workington MP Sue Hayman was up before dawn on Friday 14th December, to lend a hand with this year’s Christmas post at Cockermouth Delivery Office.
Last year, Royal Mail handled around 149 million parcels during the Christmas rush – more than all of its competitors combined – as well as mountains of cards, and Christmas is the busiest time of year.
Sue said: “Our post men and women work long hours in all weathers at this time of year, making sure all our cards and presents get delivered in time for Christmas.
“I wanted to say a big thank you for all their hard work, so I went to the delivery office for the morning rush and tried to give them some support!”
