At 6:21pm on the 7th of January three fire engines from Appleby, Kirkby Stephen, and Shap attended a domestic building fire at Meadow Vale, Great Musgrave.
The fire was located in the roof of the property and had begun to spread to the main house.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, working at height kit, and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were engaged at the scene for just under five hours.”
