COPELAND Mayor Mike Starkie is inviting members of the community to hear more about his budget plans.
Mr Starkie will hold two open events next week to outline Copeland Council’s proposed spending for 2019/20.
Aimed at both members of the business community and the wider public, the sessions will take place at Millom Network Centre on Wednesday, January 16 (5pm) and The Beacon Portal, Whitehaven, on Thursday, January 17 (5pm). Both events will last 90 minutes.
Mr Starkie said: “I’m looking forward to sharing our budget proposals for the forthcoming year. The public consultation we held towards the end of last year generated a good response that offers us plenty of feedback that we have incorporated into our thinking.
“These events are now an opportunity for the community to contribute in person, and all feedback received will be taken on board as we finalise our proposals as the budget-setting process continues over the coming weeks.
“After I’ve outlined the proposals, I’ll be taking questions so this is a good chance for members of the community to have their say on the issues that matter to them.”
Further events will take place in Egremont and Cleator Moor on dates to be confirmed.
