Two-men were stopped by police on Friday March 1, while driving a white BMW 5 series near to Todhills on the northbound M6.
The men, both Vietnamese appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court from police custody this afternoon.
They are both charged with alleged possession of the Class B drug cannabis.
The driver, Hieu Nguyen, 24, pleaded not-guilty to possession and entered no-plea to an accusation of driving with no-insurance.
The court was told police officers stopped the car and while speaking to the driver they thought they could smell cannabis, the allegation is the illegal drugs valued around £100,000 were in the found in the boot.
The passenger Thang Hoa, 38, also pleaded not guilty to the accusation of possession of cannabis.
Both defendants told the court through an interpreter they have no-fixed-address and told the magistrates more than once they were not-guilty during the 10-miunte hearing.
They were both remanded in custody to appear before a judge at Carlisle Crown on April 1.
