Tanya Dixon

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland would like to thank Tanya Dixon from Penrith for her truly amazing support, the tremendous sponsorship funds raised from her skydive challenge of £593.75 will provide numerous hours of end of life care in patients own homes.

Tanya is an avid volunteer and supporter of the Charity and said “without doubt this challenge of falling 120mph rushing down to earth from 11,000ft was definitely out of my comfort zone, it was one of the scariest but best feelings ever and it’s fantastic to know that this event will help make a difference within our community”.

Tanya also said “ I’d encourage others to register for the forthcoming Hospice at Home skydive asap, this challenge allows you to experience a tandem skydive, which is the best way to get a taste of this adrenaline fuelled extreme sport in a safe and fun way.”

The aim of the Hospice at Home Clinical Team has always been to provide a peaceful and dignified death for patients at home, whilst also supporting their families and carers. This is at the heart of our service and will always remain so, with over 700 new referrals plus existing patients cared for and supported by Hospice at Home each year. All of our services are free of charge and our aim of providing More Care for More People is being made possible by the generosity of supporters.

Has Tanya inspired you? Could you take the leap for charity? If the answer is yes come Sky Dive for us on September 7th 2019!

There are two options for registration. The first is to pay a £50 fee, then each participant is kindly encouraged to raise a minimum of £395. Alternatively, participants can choose to self-fund the skydive, which costs £200 and then raise a minimum of £195. T-shirts, sponsorship forms and fundraising guides are all provided. The funds raised from this challenge will enable Hospice at Home to continue to provide a vital service in the North and East of Cumbria. For more details and to register please visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk/events/event/skydive/ or call the Fundraising Office on 01768 210719.
