Three Fire Engines from Grange, Ulverston and Milnthorpe were mobilised to a persons reported fire on Dearden Close, Grange-over-Sands.
Fire crews rushed to the scene at 3:18am today, Saturday 25 May.
The fire involved a bungalow which was well alight on arrival.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus, one thermal image camera and two roof ladders to extinguish the fire.
“There was one casualty suffering from smoke inhalation who was given oxygen by fire crews before being handed over to the ambulance service.
“Crews were on scene approximately two hours.”
