Lakeland CBD Celebrate their 1st Birthday with an open day

Carlisle-based company, Lakeland CBD, will be celebrating its first anniversary in style with an information day from 9am to 7pm at its premises on 11th June.

This time last year owners Nic Hewitt and Luke Woodend brought CBD (Cannabidiol) oil to a whole new audience and now they boast hundreds of happy customers in Cumbria and beyond.

With a lot of hard work and awareness-raising, Lakeland CBD has rightly taken its place as Cumbria’s premier one stop shop for all things CBD. “We are passionate about our products and are committed to producing only the finest quality CBD,” says Luke. “Seeing so many unregulated and low grade CBD oil online gave us the impetus to establish Lakeland CBD. We wouldn’t dream of compromising our products because we use them ourselves, as do our family and friends.”

Cannabidiol – or CBD oil – is derived from the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant is made up of 114 compounds, the most famous being THC (the compound that gets you high) which is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 but, coming a close second, is CBD.

CBD is extracted from the plant using the CO2 method in which the THC is left behind meaning that the oil is completely legal in the UK due to it not being a psychoactive substance and, therefore, having absolutely no toxic effects.

CBD oil helps support the balance of the endocannabinoid system which regulates pretty much every known bodily function from sleep to digestion to pain control. This recent discovery has brought relief to millions of people the world over and Lakeland CBD is delighted to be doing its bit to spread the word!

Nic Hewitt says of the last year, “We’re all hugely proud of how far we’ve come on over the last year, we had a great time at the Whitehaven Christmas markets and we’re looking forward to our first time at Another Fine Fest on Hune 15th. Our journey hasn’t been without its ups and downs but knowing that we are offering a great alternative to traditional medicine is worth the upheaval! We’ll be releasing more products very soon beginning with capsules, followed by edibles and we’re in talks to provide our products wholesale. These are exciting times!”

Lakeland CBD team members are grateful for the ongoing support they receive from customers and the great Cumbrian public and would encourage anyone who wants to know more about CBD to check out their website, www.lakelandcbd.co.uk.

Nic explains, “We have some straightforward, simple videos that outline how we extract our CBD and how our products can support the endocannabinoid system. Currently in the UK CBD oil can only be sold as a food supplement which means we are unable to make any medicinal claims, however our satisfied customers are proof enough for us and we leave it up to people to make up their own minds.”

Lakeland CBD currently sell three strengths of oil, a tasteless spray, a joint cream & heat cream and they are launching their new range of capsules. All of which can be bought online through their website or you can visit the team for a face-to-face chat at Unit 6 1st Floor, Atlas Works, Nelson Street, Carlisle, CA2 5NB (above Com-for-T). Alternatively, you can give them a ring on 01228 739099.

Better yet, call into their Carlisle shop on 11th June from 9am to 7pm to help them celebrate their first anniversary! Nic will be at the shop ‘til late to catch anyone who can’t make the event, so no one should miss out.
