Carlisle Lake District Airport training

Carlisle Lake District Airport staff were put through their paces over the weekend as Loganair held a check-in training session last Thursday and Friday.

The Security and Passenger Service Agents worked through Loganair’s bespoke IT systems, customer service-related procedures and security measures.

The training comes ahead of Thursday 4 July, when Carlisle Lake District Airport will see commercial flights take-off for the first time in more than 25 years.

The Stobart Group-owned and operated airport has teamed-up with Lognair to offer routes to and from London Southend Airport, Belfast City Airport and Dublin Airport, opening Cumbria and the Lake District region to the South East of England, Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.

The routes are on sale and tickets are available via www.loganair.co.uk. Fares to Belfast City start from £39.99 and to Dublin and London Southend from £44.99.

Kate Willard, Director of Partnership Development for Stobart Group, said: “We were delighted to have the Loganair team come to the airport to conduct this essential training with our hard-working Security and Passenger Service Agents.

“It goes to show how closely we are working with Loganair ahead of commercial flights launching on Thursday 4 July. Like our sister airport, London Southend Airport, we want to champion customer service.”

A Loganair spokesperson said: “With less than a month until our first services touch down on the tarmac of Carlisle Lake District Airport, we’re undertaking an intense programme of preparations ahead of the launch.  Congratulations to the team at the airport for completing the training and we’re very much looking forward to the big day.”
