Police want to speak to this man

Do you recognise this man? Police want to speak to him after a sexual assault at a Morecambe bar.

It occurred at around 3am on Thursday 18th July inside Popworld on Marine Road East. A man has approached the 19-year-old victim, who was in the company of a friend, on the dancefloor.

He danced with the victim before forcibly kissing her face and neck. He has then pushed her against a wall where she was sexually assaulted.

Security staff intervened and the man was made to leave.

DC Sarah Chadwick from Lancaster CID said: “The victim was enjoying a night out with her friend when a man has not only kissed her against her will, but has pushed her into a corner where she was seriously abused.

“Thankfully she was able to get the attention of a member of staff who alerted security.

“We need anyone who may recognise the man in these images to speak to us as soon as possible.”

The offender is described as potentially being of Asian origin, around 5ft 5ins, with short dark hair.  He spoke with a foreign accent and was wearing a distinctive dark top which featured a floral/leaf motif.

Anyone with information can call Lancashire Police on 01524 596454 or, if you fail to get an answer, 101, quoting incident reference 623 of 18 July.

Alternatively independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org
