Looking for ways to entertain your children during the holidays? Two low-cost exciting bespoke singing workshops have been created for young people to take part in next month and booking is now open.
Local musician and music teacher Barbara Gilbertson from Dufton, has created the sessions, following the success of similar workshops last summer, to encourage more young people to take up singing and learn the technical skills to discover their potential, all while having heaps of fun.
The first workshop for ages eight to 11 will be held on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 August between 10am and 4pm at Hunter Hall School, Penrith. The two-day choral extravaganza, which only costs £22.50 per day, will feature a range of old and new songs, including West End favourites and current chart hits, and at the end of the second day, participants will be able to perform what they’ve learnt in a show for friends and family.
The second workshop will follow the same format and run on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 August at the same times.
Barbara said: “This is a fun-filled opportunity for young people to try something new or boost their singing experience. The workshops also offer parents a holiday club-style activity to entertain kids during the long summer break. I ran similar workshops last year, which were hugely successful and have had many requests to repeat the experience.”
The venue is easily accessible and offers a central point in the Lakes and Eden Valley and young people will need to bring a packed lunch for both days.
Places are limited on both courses, so reserve now to avoid disappointment. To book or find out more call 07713 488 565, email [email protected] or contact ‘Barbara Gilbertson Musician’ on Facebook.
Barbara also offers a range of bespoke music lessons for children and adults during school holidays and term-time. Block bookings or one-off taster lessons in singing, piano and violin can be booked via the above details.
