Detectives investigating an incident in Wigton yesterday (31 July) which left three people injured are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage who is in the area at the time to come forward.

Two men and a woman were injured in the incident, with their injuries believed to have been caused by a bladed article.

The woman was treated locally at the scene by NWAS.

One man was taken to Preston Royal Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in a stable condition.

The second man was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and is in intensive care.

A 49-year-old man was arrested immediately following the assaults. He remains in police custody this morning.

Detective Inspector Martin Hodgson said: “Detectives are continuing their investigation today. We are particularly keen to encourage anyone who was in the area and who has a dash cam on their vehicle which could potentially have recorded any part of the incident to come forward.

“We are also urging anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to come forward to do so immediately.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police referencing incident 94 of 31 July 2019.
