New Pregnancy Reflexology service in North Cumbria

New and expectant mums in North Cumbria can now access specialist reflexology services, thanks to local pregnancy experts, Bumps.

Reflexology is a pressure therapy, which involves the massage of specific “zones” of the hands and feet. In pregnancy, the manipulation of these zones can help to relieve common symptoms such as nausea, heartburn and pelvic pain. The treatment itself is also highly relaxing, which can reduce anxiety and help you to have a quicker, more comfortable birth.

Owned by local midwife Alison Lindsay, Bumps also provides antenatal classes and hypnobirthing courses to help new parents prepare physically and emotionally for their baby’s birth.

“I’ve been interested in Reflexology for many years now and am so excited to share the many benefits with my clients. It complements other pregnancy treatments, such as hypnobirthing, perfectly!” Ali Lindsay, Bumps.

A typical reflexology session lasts around an hour (plus an initial medical consultation) and makes a great gift either during pregnancy or in the postnatal period.
