Emergency services are dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A5086 between Frizington and Cleator Moor.
At 17:50 hours two fire engines attended a road traffic collision on Parkside Road, Cleator Moor where four persons were trapped.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Three casualties self-rescued and the fourth casualty was rescued by firefighters using hydraulic cutting and spreading equipment and small tools.
“The casualties were passed to North West Ambulance Service and fire crews were in attendance for one hour.”
The road was closed in both directions but has now reopened.
