Cumbria Police is appealing for information following an assault with a weapon near to Talkin Tarn, Brampton yesterday afternoon (30 Aug).

Police were called at around 1.20pm to a report of a man having been assaulted by a road adjacent to the railway line, north of Talkin Tarn.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The victim, a local man in his 30s, received injuries to his stomach area.

“However, the injuries are not believed to be serious at this time. An ambulance attended and he was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary as a precaution.

“The type of weapon used is not yet known but is believed to be some type of sharp instrument.

“The offender left the scene in a dark coloured pick-up with a silver, double wheel based farm trailer on the back, similar to a cattle transporter. It is believed a second person was in the vehicle.

“The attacker was described as being around 25 and around 5ft 9ins tall. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a grey hoody, blue jeans and white trainers and wore a baseball cap. He spoke with an eastern European accent.”

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw this vehicle before, during or after the assault, or anyone else with information which might assist, to come forward. If you have dashcam of the area at that time please contact us.
