The A66 has reopened following a single vehicle road traffic collision on the westbound carriageway near Stainton.
The A66 westbound was closed at the Rheged roundabout.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A man was taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with minor injuries.”
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two fire engines were mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision on the A66 near Stainton.
“On arrival crews found one casualty trapped in vehicle.
“Crews used small tools to extricate the casualty and make the scene safe.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.”
All lanes have now reopened.
