Cllr Janet King

A fundraising pie, peas and bingo night has been organised at the Royal British Legion in Workington on Friday 15 November, 7pm.

The evening has been organised by the Mayor of Workington, Cllr Janet King, to raise money for two local charities; Young Cumbria and Young Carers West Cumbria. Cllr King commented; “Both of these charities have done so much to support young people living in Cumbria. We’ve planned a really fun evening and we hope the proceeds will help to support their important work.”

The pie and peas supper is £5.00 and bingo books are £1 each (or £5 for 6 books). The new owners of the Beckstone Pantry are sponsoring the event and have arranged for Anne-Marie Jackson, a popular local singer, to perform during the evening.

Tickets are available from the Royal British Legion (tel: 01900 66834) or the Workington Town Council office (tel: 01900 702986) at the Town Hall.
