Teens charged with Carlisle robbery

Carlisle Magistrates Court

Three teenagers have been charged in connection with a robbery committed at a Carlisle off-licence.

The trio were remanded in custody following appearing at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on Friday (November 22).

The charges follow an investigation into an incident that occurred on Thursday evening (November 21) at the Foreways store on Blackwell Road.

Those charged were:

  • Aaron Blackburn, 18, of Queens Road, Kendal, was charged with robbery and possess an offensive weapon in a public place.
  • A 17-year-old male, from Blackpool, was charged with robbery and possess an offensive weapon in a public place.
  • A 16-year-old male, from Carnforth, was charged with robbery.

All three will next appear at Carlisle Crown Court on January 6 2020.

A 48-year-old woman, from Carlisle, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender is released under investigation.
