Police are investigating an assault that occurred yesterday (Dec 3) at around 10pm in the area of Tangier Street, Whitehaven.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A woman from Whitehaven in her 40s suffered a head injury during the assault.
“She was taken to West Cumberland hospital and has since been discharged.
“The suspect is described as a stocky man. Around 5’5 in height with short ginger hair.”
