A Carlisle man has appeared in court and pleaded guilty to one offence of breaching a risk of a sexual harm prevention order on February 21, 2019.
Raymond Belcher, 76, gave his address as Dalton Road, Carlisle.
District Judge Gerald Chalk sitting in the Carlisle Magistrates Court heard how Belcher appeared at Carlisle Crown Court on November 10, 2017 facing numerous offences of indecent child image charges, part of his sentence was a sexual harm prevention order which made a number of prohibitions relating to the use of the internet and social media outlets.
Belcher pleaded guilty to breaching the order on February 21, 2019, the court was told specialist police officers found he had deleted his internet browser history which he was prohibited from doing by a sexual harm prevention order made by Crown Court.
Belcher told the judge, “the breach was mainly accidental and I was confused, I won’t do this again.”
Judge Chalk said his sentencing powers were inadequate and Belcher would be sentenced by a judge at Carlisle Crown Court on March 6, he was granted bail until then.
