Event organisers have decided to postpone the Diverse Cumbria Awards which were due to take place on May 29, but are insisting the awards will still take place for their 5th anniversary.

Event Production Manager Ben Vollans said: “In the current climate of growing public health concern over COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the latest Government advice and information I have decided to postpone the Diverse Cumbria Awards. This won’t come as a surprise to any of you I am sure, but I am making the point of saying the event is not cancelled! We will be going ahead with our 5th anniversary at some point! Tickets will, of course, be honoured for the new date. A massive thank you to our sponsors for their support during this time.

“Nominations will stay open until I know more, so please do continue to submit your nominations. This may be a good chance to look at those who are helping others in this time of need, these people need recognition for their actions.

“Stay safe, we will be announcing more information regarding a new date as soon as we can.”

The latest information can be found on the Diverse Cumbria website www.diversecumbria.co.uk as well as across all social media.
