Cumbrian Heritage Quiz Keeping Stay-at-Homers Entertained

Cumbria’s Living Heritage, a dynamic group of cultural and heritage attractions, museums and glorious homes and gardens, is receiving a positive reaction to its latest efforts to provide new insight and enjoyment to those who would normally be free to visit.

The group has created a 34-question quiz for those in lockdown, which is already seeing adults and children making it their mission to track down the answers, all of which can be found on the websites of Cumbria’s Living Heritage member.  The quiz features one question per member, ensuring all can attract virtual visits whilst having to remain closed.

Entrants have until May 11 to do their research and have fun whilst scooting around websites. Some answers need some teasing out and a little browsing but playing Sherlock Holmes is half the fun. Learning some ‘not many people know that’ facts is also a good reason to take part in the quiz challenge, whether you tackle it with your children, a partner or just on your own.  You could even divide up the questions between yourself and family members locked down somewhere else!

The prize is a card that will give the winner and up to 3 others free entry to one of the venues operated by Cumbria’s Living Heritage members, once they open their doors to welcome visitors once again.  The winner can choose which place they would most like to visit.

This is a prize well worth having, whether you like history, historic homes, glorious gardens, days out with the family, or museums, castles and monuments. It will also give the winner something to look forward to.

Chair of Cumbria’s Living Heritage, Peter Frost-Pennington, says: “We are delivering the enjoyment of heritage in new ways right now, keeping in touch with those who have already visited some of our members’ venues and reaching out to those who might not have done so.  Most of us are looking for things to do to occupy our time right now, so our quiz should help with that.”

Head to www.cumbriaslivingheritage.co.uk to find the quiz in the news section. Entries need to be submitted by May 11, so get cracking on that detective work!
