Police are warning people to take measures to secure their homes and vehicles following suspicious activity in the Denton Holme area of Carlisle.
In the early hours of today (Thursday May 14), police received reports that a male was trying door handles and looking into parked cars.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information which could help to contact police, referencing incident 0001 of May 14 2020.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “With the recent warm weather, officers are urging people to be aware of their own home security.
“Basic steps such as keeping doors and windows locked can make a huge difference to preventing such crime.
“Ensure that no valuable items are left on view in your vehicle, even if you are leaving it unattended for a few minutes or to do a quick errand.”
