Keith Wilby, of Ireleth near Askam-in-Furness, has written and released a song COVID Situation to thank NHS staff for everything that they are doing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Keith, who is a Principal Engineer in the Barrow Shipyard, is donating all of his online music royalties during the coronavirus pandemic to staff at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT).

Keith said: “We all owe the NHS a huge debt of gratitude and I wanted to show mine through my music. The new song is my take on how ordinary people like me should stay safe and protect others.” People can purchase Keith’s single COVID Situation and his album Through the Storm.

Keith’s music is available on all major streaming platforms.

Sue Smith, OBE, Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Chief Nurse, UHMBT, said: “I want to thank Keith for coming up with a really creative way of saying thank you to our staff at UHMBT. I have listened to his song and it is really reflective of the tie we are working in. I know that staff and patients alike will relate to it.”
