Officers in South Cumbria have charged a man in connection with an incident in the early hours of Friday 22nd May.
A taxi from Halifax was stopped on the A590 dual carriageway near Newby Bridge in the early hours of the morning.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Two men aged 33 and 40 were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and possession of an offensive weapon.
“Vaseem Adalat aged 33, from Balmoral Place, Halifax was charged with drugs trafficking offences and possession of offensive weapon.
“He was charged to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates on today (May 23).
“A 40 year old male from Halifax also arrested was later released under investigation.”
