Two Carlisle men arrested on suspicion of GBH

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH as part of an investigation into two incidents in Carlisle.

The first incident occurred on Friday (29 May) at approximately 10pm at an address on Henderson Road. A man and woman were assaulted which resulted in injuries to both victims.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Carlisle, were arrested on suspicion of GBH. Both have been released under investigation.

“The second incident occurred yesterday (30 May) shortly before 11.30pm. Two men were injured following an assault which occurred in an alley on Baird Road.

“Enquires are ongoing into both incidents and officers are appealing for anyone with information on either incident to get in touch.

“Extra patrols into both areas will continue throughout today.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to officer from the North Cumbria Crime and Safeguarding Team. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
