Police are investigating an incident whereby a man was assaulted by two men on Rothay Road, Ambleside at approximately 6pm on Sunday 31st May.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The victim who is in his 30’s has sustained a laceration to the underneath of his eye and bad swelling around the eye as well as a snapped tooth.
“Two men in their 20’s from the Windermere area have been arrested by police shortly after the incident and remain in police custody on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.”
Police are appealing to any witnesses who have any information to please contact Cumbria Police to assist with the investigation. Police are particularly keen to speak with a female who was believed to be with the offenders at the time of the incident.
