Songs for Stanley virtual concert will take place this Saturday (11 July) from 7.30pm, on Facebook and You Tube, to raise funds for the Carlisle boy, Stanley, to send him to Singapore for life saving treatment, from T cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Stanley has won the hearts of the Carlisle and Cumbrian community, and with so many people donating and raising funds, have so far gathered over £300,000.  Another £200,000 will ensure Stan can be taken to Singapore for this treatment.

In little over two weeks, a virtual concert has been organised by local business women Claire Armstrong, performer Liam Moorhouse, events organiser Gill Forster-Spratt; led by Glenn Anderson a key player for concerts within Cumbria and nationally.

There will be a showcase of local artists including; Lisa Glendining, Jemma Bell, Miss Pearl, High Dynamics, Mandi Leanord, Courtney O’Neil, Sh boom! (Ian Binstead and Mark Graham), Liam Moorhouse, Stevie D and now Hardwicke Circus have revealed that they too will perform for Stanley too.

Harwicke Circus are a local six piece band, with a massive musical career in front of them, performing at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight festival, and supported Madness, Bob Dylan and Alabama 3 just to name a few.

There will be some support messages from some incredible artists, including Stavros Flatly and one already received and published from Kevin Clifton, known from Strictly Come Dancing.

Other acts include: Jenny Ball, Sarah O’Conner, Lizzie Bea, Blake Patrick Moore, Christopher Maloney, John Robyns, Andrew Robbley  Collabro and Alfie Boe.

Jonny Foster, lead singer of Hardwick Circus said: “We are thrilled to be part of such an awe-inspiring concert, we want as many people to watch it as possible and donate – we want to get Stanley the treatment he needs. We had already planned a full band live stream on Tuesday 28 July on our new Facebook page – but couldn’t miss out on this amazing opportunity on Saturday.”

Glenn Anderson, one of the organisers said “We are thrilled with the support from the music industry and are delighted to have confirmation and support from so many talented local and national artists. It will be a fantastic show. The concert will be a chance for people to enjoy live stream performances, but also to raise awareness that our music industry has truly suffered during covid-19, and we are here, and can’t wait until we can perform again.”
