Police have confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the area of Melmerby, at about 11:40am today (Aug 3).
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Formal identification has not yet taken place and inquiries are ongoing.
“The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious at this stage.”
